Last night I attended the opening of a project that I was pleased to have a role in – the new indoor interpretive exhibit at Billings Estate National Historic Site here in Ottawa. Lead designer Sunniva Geuer and Interpretive Planner/Writer Janis Nostbakken did a great job breathing life, vitality and interactivity into the Billings Family Story. Yours truly developed the designs for the cases, reader rail supports and mechanical interactives. From the press release:
Interested in learning more about your local history? Bring the whole family to explore Ottawa’s new interactive exhibit, the Billings Family Story. Listen to Charles and Hugh Braddish’s poetry, smell Lamira’s herbs and learn new stories about the fascinating family. Museum veterans and first-timers alike will discover something new and exciting at Billings Estate National Historic Site!
Definitely worth a visit!
